SPRING 2025 RECAP

The Psi Beta’s kept busy this Spring between Dance Marathon, Leadership Conferences, Hawkeye Excellence Awards and more. Let’s recap!

DANCE MARATHON

On February 7th, the University of Iowa held its 31st annual Dance Marathon. Many sisters were involved by running tables, assisting on committees, and dancing together. The event raised a total of $1,558,324.31. Here’s more from one of our members:

“Joining Dance Marathon leadership this year has been the best decision I have ever made! Being able to directly see how this organization impacts kids and families is something that will stick with me for a lifetime. I love you, DM!” – Nadine Mueller, PC ’23

NANCY WALTON LAURIE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

In April, Psi Beta’s very own Director of Programming, Madi Miller, was selected to attend the Nancy Walton Laurie Leadership Institute at Chi Omega Headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee. The program is designed to help collegiate women grow through leadership development and life skills training. It empowers members through workshops and structured activities, allowing them to make a greater impact within their chapter. Here’s what Madi had to say:

“The Nancy Walton Laurie Leadership Institute was an incredible experience! Our workshops focused on learning how to leverage our strengths and build resilient leaders. I learned so much that I can take back to my position on the executive board, into future jobs, and into my life in general. I left feeling empowered. The alumnae and collegian connections I made absolutely filled my cup and reminded me just how genuine Chi Omega’s sisterhood is. It’s such a unique and fulfilling experience to form such deep connections in just one weekend. I’m so grateful to Chi Omega for the amazing opportunities it provides to help both collegian and alumnae sisters grow. This sisterhood is so incredibly special, and this experience was a testament to that!” – Madi Miller, PC ’22

Hawkeye excellence awards

The annual Hawkeye Excellence Awards took place on April 30th, and Psi Beta was honored to receive multiple recognitions. Just a few include:

Excellence in Philanthropy and Community Service
Excellence in Recruitment/Intake and Retention
Excellence in Risk Reduction and Management
Excellence in Leadership and Educational Development
Excellence in Values Congruence and Accountability

Along with these awards, Psi Beta was proud to be named 2024 Panhellenic Chapter of the Year for the second year in a row and recognized with the Highest PHC Chapter GPA for the seventeenth consecutive year.

There truly isn’t anything like the sisterhood we share at Psi Beta, and we are so thankful for the impact each member has made.

CARNATION BALL

The Psi Betas know how to have fun, and they did just that at our Spring Formal—Carnation Ball. Huge shoutout to our Internal Social Directors, Emily Davis and Findley Dvorak, for planning an unforgettable night. It was a wonderful celebration full of dancing, singing, and spending time with our sisters. We are so grateful to be part of such an amazing sisterhood.

Psi Beta’s sisterhood is truly something special, and we are thankful for all of the memories we’ve made together this semester. We can’t wait to see what the next one holds!
