Chi Omega Ladies Day 2022

On Saturday April 2nd, Chi Omegas and the special women in their lives gathered for Ladies Day at the Courtyard Marriot Hotel. This was our first in person Ladies Day event in a few years due to Covid-19, which made it even more special to be able to connect in such a fun way. Our External Sisterhood Directors, Claire Enyart and Libbie Pavon, worked tirelessly over the last few months to plan a day dedicated to celebrating all the amazing women in our lives, and they did not disappoint! A delicious brunch was followed by an auction benefitting Make-A-Wish, heartfelt speeches from our seniors, and moments spent laughing and sharing memories with one another. The external sisterhood committee did an outstanding job decorating a beautiful venue and we are beyond thankful to have been able to attend such a special event together!

“I had the best time at Ladies Day, especially because I was able to plan and host it with my Big, Libbie. Ladies Day is one of my favorite events because it allows special the women in our lives a glimpse into Chi Omega, one of the most special parts of our college experiences. I absolutely loved showing my mom what Chi O is all about and how closely we work with Make-A-Wish, along with having her get to know my best friends and their moms even better.” - Claire Enyart, PC ‘20

“Claire’s dad and I have had the privilege of watching her fully envelope herself in Greek Life, proudly as a Chi Omega. We have seen her thrive through establishing new friendships. We’ve witnessed growth in independence, accountability for her decisions and their outcomes, her future, and the desire to lead and stretch herself beyond levels of comfort. The friendships built and sisterhood created will result in lifetime memories for which she will be forever grateful. As her parents, we are so very thankful for Claire’s experience, knowing how much her life is, has been, and will be positively impacted through being a Chi Omega. We could not be more proud of our sweet girl.” - Kelly Enyart (Claire’s Mom)

“Ladies Weekend was such a breath of fresh air this spring! We were able to gather together in person for the this event for the first time in 3 years. Planning this event was one of the most rewarding experiences I have had in Chi O so far. Getting to see everyone’s appreciation and love for their guests made all of the planning worthwhile!” - Libbie Pavon, PC ‘19

“It has been so fun to see Libbie grow in Chi Omega. Over the past few years, I have seen her become more confident in herself. She is a stronger leader and stands up for what she believes in. I feel like she has made her best friends who will last a lifetime in her Chi Omega sisters.” -Tracie Pavon (Libbie’s Mom)

One of the highlights from the day was definitely the Make-A-Wish Auction. Chi Omegas and supporting businesses donated beautiful gift baskets that were bid on by attendees at the Ladies Day Brunch. Our lovely Make-A-Wish directors Aubri McClung and Megan Kurth organized the auction that consisted of 32 baskets in which all proceeds were donated to Make-A-Wish. In total, our chapter raised over $11,000 meaning we are three-fourths of the way to granting a child’s wish!

“Ladies day was one of the best events I have ever been a part of! Not only was the venue, food and company amazing, but we were able to raise over $11,000 for Make-A-Wish in one day! I was completely overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for all of the amazing ladies and friends that I have within Chi Omega. So many amazing women dedicated their time to making the most wonderful baskets. Each basket was so creative and unique. My Co-Director Megan and I were astonished by the hard work everyone put in! I was able to spend the day with my mom, and I truly feel I got closer to her. I was able to show her what I love so much as well as introduce her to the women I surround myself with each day. This was a special event, and I am so proud of the wonderful ladies who put this together! <3” -Aubri McClung, PC ‘20

Chi Omega is all about supporting and being inspired by the women around us. They help us grow, transform, and become leaders in our communities. Who better to comment on the growth of a few seniors than some of the first female inspirations in their lives:

“What a beautiful Chi Omega Mom’s Day event! Being surrounded by so many intelligent and confident young women filled me with pride. My daughter has made so many incredible friends during her four years as a Chi O. As Chi Omegas, these young ladies hold themselves to a higher standard and this chapter’s support has allowed them all to flourish and be the best versions of themselves. Chi Omega provided Gina with a group of peers who all share similar values. Friends who brought out the best in each and supported one another on emotional, social and academic levels. Chi O provided Gina with leadership opportunities and a safe, family oriented environment that gave me a great sense of comfort. It has been a tremendous honor to be an Iowa Chi Omega Mom!” - Jane Sobecki (Gina Sobecki’s Mom)

“Chi Omega’s Ladies Day was so special and I had the privilege to meet so many smart, talented, and generous women. I was so impressed with the academic achievements of the seniors and loved reading about their future plans. Ladies Day also gave me a glimpse into the special Make-A-Wish philanthropy and I was blown away that the chapter raised over $11,000 in just a few hours. This event was a memorable way to end my oldest daughter Elle’s senior year, and a great start to my youngest daughter Emma’s four years in Chi Omega. I have seen how Elle has grown as a young woman personally and professionally because of the women in this chapter and in just six short months I have already seen how Emma has flourished. I am so thankful to this organization for giving my daughters a home away from home, and grateful to celebrate with them this weekend.” - Ann Weilbrenner (Elle and Emma’s Mom)

We are beyond grateful for the countless time spent and extra effort put into planning this event from Claire and Libby, as well as from Megan and Aubri. Without them, no part of this day would have been possible. The venue was gorgeous, the auction was a major success, and most importantly, countless memories were made by all attendees. Special thanks to The Shop for providing us with a discount to shop during the day, as well as Molly’s Cupcakes and Insomnia Cookies for donating baskets! We had such a great time celebrating all the special women in our lives and are already looking forward to our next Ladies Day in 2023!
